As you can see from the tweets above, four women will compete to be the next Conservative MP for Banbury this Saturday (8 November) after Sir Tony Baldry announced he will not be re-standing. The Oxfordshire seat is one of the safest in the country with a whopping 18,227 vote majority (32.3% majority) over the Liberal Democrats.
It’s a little surprising that the four shortlisted applicants will not officially be released in advance. I wonder how long before they appear in the public domain….
